Educating people, young to old, about nature and the importance of preserving it has long been Dave Taylor's goal. Whether as a teacher, a consultant, author, photographer, speaker, videographer or just the guy next door he is always open to an opportunity to share his knowledge and to learn from others.

Amazon Kindle and YouTube have provided him with a perfect vehicle to expand upon his previous accomplishments. He has entered a new stage in his retirement, a stage that sees him producing both eBooks and videos that he hopes will provide valuable resources for educators and the public.

To this end he is pricing the eBooks at a price as low as he can. Each eBook is meticulously well researched, drawing upon up to date research and his own experiences with the subjects presented. He enriches the eBook with a selection of images that on their own awaken the reader's affection for nature.

Augmenting this is his collection of over 300 videos found on his YouTube channel (Search words: Dave Taylor Wildlife). Below the write up for each eBook there is a list of two or three suggested videos that support the content of the eBook.  Note: the creative teacher will find many other videos that relate to the subject of that eBook in Dave's video library.

Origin of "Senses of Wildness"
Forty years ago Dave incorporated his free lance photography business under the name J. D. Taylor "Senses of Wildness" Inc (SW). The name came from a quote Dave read long ago about the need for a "sense of wildness (or wilderness)" in our lives.
This sense of wild nature is something he tries to evoke in his photography, videos, books and eBooks. But he chose "senses" plural for the name of his new business. Way back then he envisioned a time when he could engage more than a reader's sense of sight, he was anticipating a time when photography, video, words and recordings could more fully engage a person's senses. That time finally arrived thanks to improved technology.

Videos
A look through Dave's video catalogue will show that there are a great many short video clips. This was a deliberate editorial choice. By producing short, easily viewed videos he hopes to engage and immerse the viewer for s short time in the wild world. Nothing can replicate the experience of actually being in nature watching a fox, or a moose or a wildebeest herd but he hopes these videos will transport the viewer for a short time into that world.  In most cases he uses natural sounds to create an ambiance. Some videos are longer and are narrated and few employ music.

Kindle Reader eBooks
To Be Seen of Not To Be Seen Series

Life Stories Series
Amazon Kindle Reader was selected because it is a free app for devices. The app allows the producer of material to produce a product that can be read like a regular book. In Dave's case the attraction was also that it was an app that allowed for the use of colour images (he is after all a photographer). Other "readers" often are limited in their use of colour images.

Dave is the author of several books for students. While much thinner than books for the adult market these books in the trade market often retail at prices equal to or greater than the cost of Dave's adult trade books. Kindle allows him to produce high quality colour books for a fraction of what the book would cost if printed.

His hope is that these will make them more readily available to a broader audience.
